These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MazeTale ("we", "our", "the app"), available at mazetale.com and as an Android application. By creating an account or using MazeTale, you agree to these Terms.
MazeTale generates interactive, branching fiction using an AI text model based on the genre, language, and choices you provide. Stories are AI-generated: they may contain unexpected, inaccurate, or repetitive content, and we do not guarantee any particular quality, length, or outcome.
You must be at least 13 years old to use MazeTale. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You can sign up with an email and password or with Google sign-in.
Token purchases are for digital content delivered immediately upon confirmation, so they are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or by the policy of the platform (e.g. Google Play) you purchased through.
The VIP subscription renews automatically each month. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current paid period, and we do not provide prorated refunds for the unused portion of a period. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support@mazetale.com within 14 days of the charge and we will review it.
Web purchases are processed by Freemius.com, which acts as the merchant of record for these transactions and handles payment, tax, and related customer service for the order. Android purchases are processed by Google Play Billing under Google's own terms.
You agree not to use MazeTale to generate or attempt to generate content that is illegal, that sexualizes minors, or that is intended to harass or harm a specific real person. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service, attempt to circumvent token limits or ad verification, or interfere with the platform's normal operation.
You retain any rights you may have in the prompts and themes you enter. Generated story text is provided to you for your personal, non-commercial enjoyment. Because content is AI-generated from a shared underlying model, we do not guarantee that any story is unique to you, and we make no ownership claim over the generated text beyond what is needed to operate and improve the service.
The MazeTale name, logo, website design, source code, and underlying software are the property of MazeTale and protected by applicable copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, redistribute, or create a derivative service from the MazeTale platform, its branding, or its interface without our prior written permission. This restriction applies to the platform itself; it does not limit your personal, non-commercial use of the story text a session generates for you, as described above.
You may stop using MazeTale and request account deletion at any time by emailing support@mazetale.com. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms.
MazeTale is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above; continued use of MazeTale after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
